Every week at The Funky Stork, we provide you with fresh content to keep you in-the-know about your life as an expectant father, new dad or single parent.
We all know that babies and kids need a lot of clothes, toys and furniture, and that none of these things come cheap. The worst part is that our kids outgrow everything really fast - toys become boring after two weeks, clothes become too small in 6 months, and furniture, such as strollers and cribs, becomes obsolete within a year or two.
As a parent, you have only a few options: buy new and throw out, or buy used and sell used. The Funky Stork Marketplace is a perfect forum to exchange your kid stuff with other parents. Sign in and start selling or buying. It's good for your pocketbook and for the environment.
Enjoy!

A nutrition neophyte? Do you and your
partner consider French fries a valid vegetable option? Or maybe you
just need some structure to help ensure that your partner is getting
all the nutrition she needs during the pregnancy. Whatever your reason
may be, our PREGNANCY NUTRITION CHECKLIST can help guide the two (three, if you count the bun in the oven) of you through a healthy pregnancy journey.
Now that your partner is pregnant, you both have an obligation to
ensure that your growing baby gets all the nutrients it needs to
develop healthily. This may not seem like a huge issue to you, but it
should- it's your baby, too. Besides, you gal will appreciate your
support and involvement in the pregnancy.
You're an enlightened guy, right? When you first learned
that you and your wife were pregnant, your first thought (O.K., your
second thought, right after that moment of sheer panic) was that you
were ready for this. You'd thought a lot about it, and, as much as you
respect your own upbringing, you knew that you could do better and that
someday, you were going to win that most coveted award: The Greatest
Dad In The World-Ever.
Breastfeeding is the most important thing you can do for your newborn. It should continue for a minimum of six months and is recommended by the AAP for at least one year. If the baby's mother needs to work after the birth, she should pump during her free time and have at least 30 ounces of breastmilk, frozen and refrigerated, on hand at all times. If the mother chooses not to breastfeed, the child will be at greater risk for obesity, ear infection, lower IQ, allergies and eczema; the baby will love you less and may not potty train before the age of 14.
